A business meeting of the Center Township Board of Supervisors was held on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. at the Township Office in Rogersville. Present were Daniel R. Stoneking, Chairman, Paul Cook, Vice Chairman, Harry D. Gillispie, Supervisor and N. Dawn Horr, Secretary. No visitors were present.
Harry made a motion to approve the minutes of the May meeting as read. Paul seconded and the motion was carried unanimously.
Paul made a motion to approve the bills as presented. Harry seconded and the motion was carried unanimously.
Bids for the Knight Hollow Road Paving Project were opened and read at noon as follows:
Morgan Excavating $86,950.00
Redstone Excavating $94,500.00
El Grande Industries $103,600.00
Ten Mile Paving $110,000.00
Harry made a motion to award the contract to Morgan Excavating and Paul seconded. Motion was carried unanimously.
The monthly code enforcement report was reviewed. The hearing with KMI Trucking was held and found in the township’s favor with a reduced fine of $250.00. Fines have been received from Spirit Services and Thru Tubing Solutions. Fines are still pending for three other companies. A hearing is scheduled for Approved Site Services on June 23, 2025. A building permit for a new home for Stephen Ashcraft has been approved.
Paving a portion of Yukon Hill Road was discussed. It was agreed to advertise for bids to pave approximately 6/10 of a mile from the Gray township line to the top of the hill ending at the Bristor driveway. The bid will be for approximately 1,000 tons of 19 mm laid 3” in depth and rolled to approximately 2 ¾ “ depth. Approximate width will be 15 feet. Paul made a motion and Harry seconded. The motion was carried unanimously. The bids will be accepted until noon on July 8th, at which time they will be opened and read.
The annual audit has been completed by Cypher and Cypher and the audit report has been submitted to the DCED.
Mowing of the road banks began on May 27th and is proceeding well.
Paul made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Seconded by Harry and the meeting was adjourned at 5:18 p.m.
